1855 CENSUS OF TOWN OF MILTON
SARATOGA COUNTY, NEW YORK

The population census of the inhabitants of the First Election District of the Town of Milton in the County of Saratoga was taken during the period of June 4 - 27, 1855 by Daniel Seymour, Marshal.

The census covering the Second Election District was taken June 5 – July 5, 1855 by Peter McPherson, Marshal. *

  17. Aliens
  18. Persons of color not taxed
  19. Persons over 21 years who cannot read and write
  20. Owners of land
  21. Deaf, Dumb, Blind, Insane or Idiotic

Note: In a few instances where copy is dark or writing not clear, transcriber has left a blank or used __ to indicate missing data. No attempt has been made to update spelling of place of birth (ex. Essicks… for Essex County) or make changes in names as written.
