| Cornell Cemetery, Greenfield & Milton - 109 names, 84 stones. On Sodeman Road, about 0.4 miles south of Middle Grove Road, on the west side. Apparently the Greenfield-Milton town line crosses the cemetery, although more of the cemetery lies in Greenfield. The newest stone I found there was from 1884. Numbered from left to right. Listed in Milton in the 1878 Cornelius Durkee cemetery report. Per the C. Durkee report - "The foregoing were copied October 20, 1876 by C.E. Durkee and E.D. Harris. The list contains all of the inscriptions ound in the cemetery at that time. It is situated on the west side of the highway that leads from Milton Center to West Greenfield (Page's Corners). The dividing line between the town of Milton and Greenfield passes through the cemetery so that about one half of the ground is in each town. In copying the inscriptions, those in the Milton portion are placed first in the list. The Cemetery adjoins the Cornell farm, hence its name." | |||||||
