These transcriptions of gravestones in the old section of Griswold Cemetery were copied May 5 & 6, 2002. The cemetery is in Fortsville, Town of Moreau, on the south side of Route 9 northeast of Exit 17 off Interstate 87 (the Northway). The old section of the cemetery is separated from the newer section by a stone fence. The 'section' and 'row' are my own designation. The cemetery is divided by 'roads' into 5 sections: starting the farthest away from Route 9, I called that section 1 and then just designated row numbers as I worked back and higher section numbers as I got closer to Route 9.

I would be interested in hearing what others know about people buried in this cemetery. I'm researching the family of "Fradenburgh" who had farms on Fortsville Rd., and I also have some information on Laura Griswold Howe and Fanny Ryan.
