Many of the records refer to MA01, "Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the
War of the Revolution." While the inclusion of the militia regiments was fairly
straightforward, there were 15 continental line regiments at the battles whose
records do not specifically list Saratoga battles information. However, the
national archives confirm that the persons included were there during the
battle dates. Sometimes the company commander listed was toward the end
of the enlistment period, not the one at the time of the battles. The additional
information in each record usually indicates who the Captain was in 1777. If the
enlstment period is in both the main file and in the additional information, then
the one in the main file is at the time of the battles, the other later in the
period.

Additional military information: In May of 1776, served with Col. Seth Warner's
Regiment, called the Green Mountain Boys. He was in Capt. Elijah Dewey's Company,
Col. Moses Robinson's Regiment of Vermont Militia, on the alarm to Mount Independence
(Ticonderoga) in Oct. - Nov. 1776, and also served in that company during the summer of
1777. Served in Capt. William Hutchins' Company of Provincial Troops, Col. Seth Warner's
Regiment, in Rutland, Vt, for 7 months, May 1 - Nov.30, 1778. He was also listed in the
rolls of the Albany County Militia, 6th Regiment, Land Bounty Rights, and did further
service under Capt. Austin(Augusten) Odell in the Saratoga County area of New York..
Exclusive of his enlistments, he served as a minuteman during the war.
Other: Born in Coventry, County of Kent, Rhode Island, on Nov. 5, 1758, and died in
Onondaga County, NY, in March 1836. His parents were William and Mary (Matteson) Weaver.
The family moved to Bennington, VT, around 1773, and Andrus was a resident there during
