Many of the records refer to MA01, "Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the
War of the Revolution." While the inclusion of the militia regiments was fairly
straightforward, there were 15 continental line regiments at the battles whose
records do not specifically list Saratoga battles information. However, the
national archives confirm that the persons included were there during the
battle dates. Sometimes the company commander listed was toward the end
of the pay period listed, not the one at the time of the battles. The additional
information in each record sometimes indicates who the Captain was in 1777.

Betsey Chase, born Newton NH, 17 Oct 1757 and died Methuen MA, 17 Mar 1832.
She was a daughter (11th of 14 children) of Francis and Sarah (Pike) Chase.
